Janae Browne
Janae Browne currently lives in Portland, Oregon, where she has built an 18-year career as a real estate broker and mortgage loan officer. But somewhere between property showings, inspections, and loan applications, her imagination has always wandered toward a different world—one filled with drama, suspense, intriguing characters, and stories waiting to be told.
Rooftop Suite, her debut novel, is the first of those stories to find its way onto the page.

Rooftop Suite started with a question I could not stop asking: what happens to people once they reach the top of the building, the top of the city, the top of the life they built, and discover that the view is not the thing they came for?
Between the demands of a full career and the beautiful chaos of everyday life, I found myself returning to these characters and the world they inhabited. Their stories unfolded gradually, becoming something far more captivating than I initially imagined. I hope this book feels like the best kind of evening: warm light, good company, and a whole city of stories glowing below you.

Two Lives, One Story

But while her days are filled with showings, inspections, contracts, and loan applications, her imagination is rarely focused on just the property in front of her.
She’s always been fascinated by people. Their relationships. Their secrets. The decisions they make, the lives they lead, and the stories that unfold behind closed doors.
Somewhere along the way, that fascination developed into something more. Characters began taking shape. Conversations played out in her imagination. Plot twists appeared at the most unexpected moments. And the idea for a novel began to grow.
For nearly a year and a half, Rooftop Suite lived in her thoughts, patiently waiting for her to find the time to bring it to life.
Eventually, she did.
Today, Janae continues her work in real estate and mortgage lending while embracing an entirely new adventure as a published novelist.
